Boys Wall Art Layout

I was really busy this weekend!
I had a lot to do but every chance I got I ran back to my scrapping table to get a little more done! lol

I used Close to my Hearts Kraft paper as the background and the "Urban" paper pack, Peacock and Whisper papers; Peacock ink and Cricut cartridges- Art Philosophy and Artistry.
I just love how this is turning out! Still a little work to do on it, so anything could change, lol

Butterfly Wall Art

I finally decided to try this out!
I've seen a lot of different ones on Pinterest and just had to try it.

I cut about 90 butterflies and bent the wings on each ones so they looked all fluttery then I placed them on the paper about 6 different ways until I finally settled on this! It's not exactly as I would have wanted it, but this glue (liquid glass by Close to my Heart) dries FAST so you don't get a lot of thinking time. lol
I just love how it looks like they are all going towards the top, trying to break free!
Butterflies are cut from Close to my Heart Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge!

A Scccary Birthday card!

Hi again!
My sisters birthday is the beginning of October and I thought since she likes haunted houses she would like a haunted card!
I used Close to my Hearts Cricut Cartridge, Artfully sent
I put the web background to give it a full card look (So the writing in it didn't show through), but it's very cool without that as well!

a Wedding (Not so) Mini Album

Hello again!

I just finished working on a wedding album for my cousin and his bride.
I put the album near the card box since it is kind of my card.. ;)

There is room for 104 pictures!  Ranging in size from 3x3 to 5x7 and even larger can be put right on a couple of the pages! There are 2 pages with attached mini books and 4 bound mini books for the top pockets!

They had a 1920's themed wedding (with Navy and Gold as their colors), which was SOOO much fun!
I even bought a flapper dress (I didn't even know its name until I started looking around, lol!)

It was a surprise for them, while it didn't turn out exactly like I'd hoped I think it looks pretty good! I just hope they like it.

So here are some cool facts and pictures from the start and finish of that =)

I am so glad to have a working Cricut again! The ONLY downside is that my mats can't quite hold the super heavy glitter paper (below) that I am using a ton of on in this album.. SOOOO.. I found some permanent/temporary spray glue that really does the trick! The glue spray would work great on a lot of things but the glitter paper just peels right off of it.. ugh.. SOOO..I have totally changed my base paper and am totally rocking it!

(If you use the glue on your mat-)You have to let it set for 2-3 minutes before putting paper on the mat  but you can let it sit for hours afterward and still get them off. If you don't wait the card stock will stick permanently to your mat. Also, I am only using this for the heavy paper. I don't use the Cricut spatula anymore. It is too big and bulky for a lot of what I do, so I use a small tool you can pull apart to use 3 different options; a hard plastic pick on one end and small flat edge (about 1/8" wide) on the other end, the other 1/2 offers a sticky end to grab small stuff and a "cap" for the pick or the flat edge to fit into. I can find the name if anyone would like to know :)

Glittery Card Stock! The main page is glittery black and the mats will all be white (Gotta bring the white in somehow, it's a wedding!! lol) but all of the decorations and borders will be in Navy, Glitter Navy and Glittery Gold. So excited to see how it turns out!!

LOVE the mirrored feathers I found and the Forever charm for the binding!
I'm using the photo refills that have a single row, for up to 6 pictures, to add extra pics that just wont fit on the pages

The butterfly and everything that I put in the binding came from the Bridal Shower party favors that her mom made as a surprise. I attached the scrap pages to the one behind to create pockets for the tags and mini books that I made and I stuck those in with lace and gold sparkley ribbon and cute white ribbon with hearts.

I used 5x7 photo protectors in the binding for the majority of the pictures

The little square with ribbon tied over it is actually a pull out mini book! It looks a lot like the one pictured below, just different papers. Some with cute sayings and others with just patterns

I decided to include some 4x6 photo inserts folded up accordian style for the page pocket

The little tag in the pocket was cut from the CTMH Cricut cartridge you can find at my site
                                                                 www.AmyScrapSpot.ctmh.com

I love the blue lace that I have accenting this page!

I thought these were cool! Not only do you have the side flaps to include photos or fun things from the wedding but I also included a removable mini book with graduating pages, tags and there are still the top pockets to use too!

Accordian style attached mini album & Bound mini albums for top pockets, I added accessories and you can see those in the above picture.
Cricut cut gold embossed tages with inked edges.. I inked the edge of every mini book in this album!

Showing my favorite accessories! embossing powder, heat gun and VersaMark!
It can make ANY project pop!

I had a lot of fun...and frustration...working on this but it was so worth it!
I plan to make more!

Comment if you have one! ;)

A little piece of HeART

Hello all! I am posting a cute little Thank You card that I made over the weekend!

I've never done anything with watercolor so I really wanted to try it!
I used my Blending Pen and Hollyhock stamp pad with the flower  stamp from the
"La Vie En Rose"- Workshop on the Go scrapbooking kit (page 51 in the idea book; # G1100). I also used the Clear Sparkles (page 141 # Z1752)
I really like how this turned out, even for my first time!
(JUST for a moment, I want to mention how awesome these Workshops on the Go are! Each one comes with the My Reflections paper pack and coordinating cardstock sheets, a D-sized stamp set, and a couple of different accessories (there are a couple of other accessories you can add too, if so desired!)
Eventually I will learn how to shade it correctly, but I'll worry about one step at a time and staying inside the lines is #1! lol

I also used a sentiment from an older set because I thought it was perfect for my "Thanks for shopping" card.
However, there are tons of awesome options in the book!

I just love talking about what I love!
Please drop a comment or question if you have one! =)

Updated! Check out this Succulent!

This little guy was planted in June. I've been taking pictures of it to see how it grows and thought I would share those with you! It started out as a thin layer of leaves and has gotten so many more in just these short months! I was sad when the first stalk fell off but soo happy when I found the little buds of new growth shortly after! and those buds have changed a LOT in a week!!

This stalk got so heavy that it couldn't hold it up! My sister and I rested it on a rock so it wasn't laying on the ground ;)
The flowers got sooo bright pink and the yellow inside is awesome! I LOVE how pretty they are!
(pic taken 7/14/15)

A week after that stalk fell off these little sprouts showed up
                                                                 (pic from 8/16/15)!
Another angle of the sprouts ;)

It's been about 2 weeks since then and LOOK at these guys! They sprang right up! Their about 7" or taller! The tips of them are the coolest thing ever!
(pic taken 8/27)

Just look at how many little "petals" their are! I can't wait to see what happens next!
....and you can Bet, I'll be posting it here! ;)

                                                          Here's what happened next!
                                                                Pictures taken 9/8/15

The coolest thing ever!! LOVE how they cascade downward!

It REALLY is amazing the way things change! I don't LOVE all kinds of change.. But flowers coming up in my garden are definitely a change that I encourage!

Air Plants!?

I dont know how known Air Plants are..
I discovered them in a little tourist shop when my husband and I went up North..

I couldn't pick which one I liked best so we agreed that I just had to buy both!
They are pretty small, perfect for my desk at work!
Since then we've added more, my hubby is going to put together a pretty home for the new ones for me. =D

I have pictures showing the bottoms of the plants. That is what is the coolest thing about them! It is a "bulb" and there are no roots!
You only have to put them in a bowl of water once every week or 2 for an hour then try to gently fling the water from the bulb (or it will sit in there and rot the plant, Tragic!)  allow them to dry for a few hours then return them to their home (I lean them upside down while they dry to get everything out).
I don't know if I mentioned that I LOVE Plants!!!!???? ;)

Thank You cards for House Warming!

Hi Again!

SO, We moved into our house the end of Sept 2014 and it took us a little while to be ready to have people over, soooo many things to do!

Needless to say, we didn't get everything done but it looked a lot better then when we started! lol

We had our house warming in May.

I really wanted to express my thankfulness to our friends and family that made the effort to come see our new home, so I put a lot of thought, and stress, into these cards but they were soo worth it!

Let me tell you though.. I have had a Cricut for about 6 years now and in the time I was creating these cards (and the thank you's for my 2 boys' teachers;another 6 cards on top of the 15) not only 1 but 2 Cricut Expressions 2's broke! I REALLY wanted to try to "weld" my shapes together and the upgrade on the internet FRIED both of my machines! I actually bought a 2nd one thinking it was time, I've used the beans out of my 1st one.. Then when THAT did it too.. I about FLIPPED!
THANK GOD for good friends! I have several but 1 in particular never used her Expression 1 so she GAVE it to me.. ANDDDD that is how I FINALLY finished allllll of my thank yous!

I really like color.. and the way that it POPS off the stark white cards.. Fantastic!
Ink the edges....and I am IN LOVE!! lol

Quilled (post) Wedding card!

Here is a card that I made for a wedding I couldn't attend out of state.
It isn't very flashy, but I just love the little stamped car! How perfect!
I put little quilled hearts to add some love to it, it IS a wedding card, after all! =)

I am rarely fully satisfied with my end product, it ALWAYS looks different in my head!! lol
...but this came close ;)

I wanted to get it in their mail box by the time they got home from their honeymoon, I succeeded too!

Grass!!!!

My NEW favorite way to pass time!

I was never a grass lover before.. But let me tell you.. When you get a new house and you have more dirt then grass you become VERY happy to see the little sprouts break free!

I've successfully seeded 5 spots in our yard and it is coming along great!

I am stuck breaking ground by hand instead of using a machine, but that actually makes it even more exciting to me! Talk about seeing the progress!

I start with a large dirt area that only has weeds and rake them all out. By the time I am done the whole area looks like the richest soil I've ever seen! ...and I need a break! lol
...actually, you HAVE to take breaks, or your arms would fall off!! LOL
I don't care too much for the seed shown here, the plain seed worked much better, but I will be correcting that! =)

The patch of grass next to the seed in the top picture was seeded 2 weeks before the new seed was put down. REALLY wish it was the same.. Looks soooo Plush and fluffy!!
I LOVE fluffy grass!!! I want my WHOLE yard to feel like your walking on pillows!! LOL
